hey there! I'm Luciano and I'm a full stack developer. I have been working steadily with Drupal for 15+ years, for several different companies across the Life Sciences, Food, Education, and other industries — just like so many of my peers.

and just like them, I used to code my own stuff until I found a framework and stopped reinventing the wheel. but that's not exactly where I started. I wanted to work in advertising — if you can believe it! so in order to have a shot at an internship, I took a web design course (yes, really).

and it worked: I was hired as a web designer.

after a couple of years, I got curious. what about a website makes end users tick? that's when I decided to embark on my first post graduate course: in Interface Design, today known as UX.

I didn't follow that career path though, but the tools and notions I learned in that course, such as universal access and ergodesign stuck with me. over the years, their continued adoption, albeit informally, has brought real benefits to the projects I've been involved with.

but I still wanted more. and after having worked only on CSS, HTML, and the occasional JS for several years, I started looking around for a system that could do the basics (and then some!), freeing me to work on more ambitious projects.

that's when I found Drupal and had a major career shift.

what made me fall in love with Drupal was its community spirit. back then, I asked myself: "does this contraption do tag clouds?" it was 2008 and that gimmick was all the rage. so I looked around and ended up in the issue queue for the Tagadelic module. seeing people toss around ideas and support each other was incredible. it's a fond memory that I keep to this day.

after several years working with Drupal 7, I published my first module and when Drupal 8 rolled around, I dove into its new Symfony integration and published another one reflecting what I had studied so far.

during those years, I also took some time to graduate in Systems Development and Anaylisis, after which I was granted a scholarship for an MBA in Project Management.

since then, I was lucky enough to land one exciting challenge after another, working not only on Agile but ITIL as well, with international teams and varied projects. and I'm very grateful for everyone I met and everything I learned.

I'm currently invested in becoming a full-fledged Team Lead, accruing more experience in deployments, front-end, and headless/decoupled architectures.
